Team Building Cookery at the Jerusalem Culinary Institute

In one of the most fun culinary team building events currently on offer, participants design and prepare a three-course meal within a limited time from a range of ingredients and recipes. This program, held at the Jerusalem Culinary Institute, helps to develop team bonding, improve communications within a group, encourage collaborative working, build trust and manage projects more effectively and efficiently.

After reviewing the food items available, the group begins work on their cooking team building challenge. First, they decide on a menu for the meal. Then they divide into smaller teams, each of which is responsible for preparing a course, menus, decorations and the dining area for the meal. The teams have a set time in which to prepare their menus based on the available ingredients and their colleagues' likes and dislikes before they head to the kitchen area to prepare the meal. At the end of the day, points are awarded for presentation, originality, taste and punctuality.

Your team building cookery programme includes food preparation and cooking, menu design and decoration.

This programme can be combined with a range of team tasks. For example, one person is the head chef, one person is the assistant chef, etc.

The Cook-Off

• 17.00 - Guests arrive, welcome refreshments are served

• 17:10 - Chef will explain the event and ask teams to split into two and the Chef shows the wonderful fresh ingredients available to both teams

• 17:30 - With the help of their Chef, groups are given 30 minutes to decide on their menu

• 18:00 - Cooking Commences! The two groups will be split into 2 teams and are given 1 hr to cook the starter and main course and set the table

• 19:00 - Starter is served

• 19:15 - Places cleared and main course served

• 20:45 – Dessert is served
