Enticing Spices

The latest trend in Israel is welcoming newcomers through spices.  In a special event organized by Layla, a learning program for women at the OU Israel Center, a group of women were given the opportunity to attend a cooking class given by the Jerusalem Culinary Institute, a kosher cooking school.  During the class, they learned about spices and ingredients that are found in Israeli markets.  They were taught how to make food healthier, how to make special food for Shabbat and many other cooking tips.

Layla is a special project run by OU Israel for English speaking women that provides classes, trips, social events and more.

During the day, the women met the head of the school, Chef Yochanan Lambiase.
